January 16 -18 – The TENTH annual Women’s Big Mountain Weekend at Silverton provides experienced skiers and snowboarders an adventurous weekend for women in the heart of the San Juans. The weekend includes two guided days of skiing at Silverton, with one heli run. The Women’s Big Mountain Weekend heli run is the perfect gateway into heliskiing and boarding if you’ve never tried it, or a great way to get your chopper fix. Participants will receive brown bag lunches on Saturday and Sunday, apres events, swag bag, and fun giveaways. Participants are grouped with women of similar ability and motivation. The Silverton Mountain guides help make the mountain’s expansive terrain more accessible and less intimidating by providing big mountain ski tips throughout the weekend. TheWomen’s Big Mountain Camp is for ages 16 and up, with ability levels of high intermediate or above, including some experience in variable snow and steep entrances.

What To Expect
ABOUT THE WEEKEND
Guided Skiing
This weekend includes two days of guided skiing, Saturday and Sunday. Your group will have a female industry professional either guiding or supporting the women’s weekend only group. We ski in groups of 8.
Single Heli Run
We will do one single heli run on either Saturday or Sunday weather dependent. A great way to dip your toes into heliskiing, once you have one drop you’ll come back wanting more!
Women Focused Films
Each year we bring in a women made or featured film. This year we will be presenting, Trails Still Blazing.
A follow-up to Trailblazer, Trails Still Blazing is a heartfelt short film that explores the balance between women as caregivers and women as adventurers. This film is a love letter to women everywhere who are experiencing both a pursuit of passion and of parenthood.
Apres Events
On Friday and Saturday join us for après at the base area and a private event Saturday night, in partnership with our official beer partner Montucky. You need to have a reservation at the mountain Saturday in order to join. You’ll get all the details on the parties from your guide or the team at the tent. These events are 21+ only. Events not open to the public.
