COVID-19 and the 20/21 Season

Silverton Mountain Guest Covid Instructions

Face masks are required by the State of Colorado to be worn at all ski areas without exception.  At Silverton Mountain you will be required to wear a mask in all settings INCLUDING riding the lift.  The only places masks are not required are while in the act of hiking or skiing.  Masks must be worn before arriving at any congregation point, like shuttle stops.  Masks must be worn at all times before entering the parking lot.

We require a well fitted mask that covers your nose and mouth.  Bandanas are not allowed, nor are thin single layer buffs.  We reserve the right to require you to wear a surgical mask (we provide these free of charge) if we deem your mask insufficient. If you choose not to follow our mask requirements, you will not be allowed to ski as per State of Colorado guidelines.

6’ apart
Social distancing is required.  Your day will be spent outside, as we have revised our base area to accommodate a new outdoor check-in and rental process. Please dress accordingly and bring many layers to have stashed in your car.  You will be using your car as your base area with the base tent only accessible under strict capacity limits and requiring permission for entry.

Initially we will not be serving alcohol at the mountain this season during scheduled ski dates. We highly encourage groups looking for après to head to town and visit one of the many restaurants and breweries who are eager to hear about your epic day at the mountain.

We are still able to offer a delicious lunch and have pre- packaged snacks and bottled non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Please consider ordering your lunch online ahead of time when you book your tickets, or at check-in when you pick up your ticket for the day. We still do not have running water, so please bring a full water bottle to start the day, and either plan on buying water or have a backup bottle in your vehicle.

In order to streamline your check-in process, please reserve all of your equipment needs ahead of time.  Equipment is scheduled for daily disinfecting cleaning. If you are renting gear, plan on arriving for check in on the early side, so there is time to get you the equipment.

We are using Smartwaiver online system so that all participants can have a touchless check in process. Your confirmation email with the Smartwaiver link needs to be shared with everyone in your party in advance to ensure that these are completed no later than 4pm the day prior to your reservation.

Busses will operate at reduced capacity as per State of Colorado guidelines. We ask that all the windows remain open, and face masks remain on while in the buses.  We are also asking that guests move to the back of the bus first and are seated one per seat, (unless you are from the same household) working forward.

Heli ops require a double layer mask system. We will provide a surgical mask to be worn under your personal face mask for a two layer protection system.  Heli windows will remain open and the fresh air system engaged, gloves will also be required to stay on your hands.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
