Three days. Zero groomed terrain. The Silverton Skinny is now a full weekend — a VK to sharpen your legs, a full day to scout the course, and the most technical two-person team skimo race in Colorado. Backcountry style terrain, strict two-person teams, no shortcuts. THREE DAYS, ONE WEEKEND
FRIDAY, APRIL 2 VK CHALLENGE 4:00 – 5:00 PM
- A vertical kilometer, skimo-style — 30 to 60 minutes of sustained, near-maximum climbing effort. Short, brutal, and the perfect warm-up for Sunday’s big mountain race.
SATURDAY, APRIL 3 COURSE PREVIEW 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- No guide, no map, no permission slip — just you, your legs, and the terrain you’re racing Sunday. Ride the lift anytime during the day and check out the mountain. Established bootpack access from the lift only — no in-bounds skinning. The mountain operates open to the public as normal.
SUNDAY, APRIL 4 SILVERTON SKINNY 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- The final stop and team national championship of the USA Skimo National Cup Series. Organized with COSMIC Ski Mountaineering — zero groomed terrain, strict two-person teams, no exceptions.
